The chateau of Tanlay
This historical chateau is one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture there is in Burgundy today. Chateau Tanlay is specifically famous for the gallery, the ballroom with the walls and ceilings adorned by the unique trompe l’oeil frescoes and also the Tower of the League where conspirators planned the downfall of the power of France with its famous mural paintings telling it own story.

Pontigny Cistercian Abbey
The Abbey in Pontigny is one of the most beautiful Cistercian churches in France. Its clean architectural lines and pure Cistercian style come close to achieving perfection. Known as the «second daughter house» of the Cistercian Order, it was founded in 1114, on the banks of the river Serein, between Burgundy and Champagne.

The Fontenay abbey
The Fontenay Abbey is one of the oldest Cistercian monasteries in Europe. Founded in 1118 by St Bernard in a marshy Burgundy valley, the abbey has not change its magnificient Romanesque style. Except for the refectorywhich was destroyed, all the rooms have been perfectly conserved : church, dormitory, cloister, council room, heating room, lodging for the abbots and the forge. Today, Fontenay attracts more than 120,000 visitors from around the world. Apart from the visits, many cultural activities (Concerts, theatre, ...) are organized in the abbey.

The mysterious Fosse Dionne
The Fosse Dionne is a vauclusian spring with a varied but constant flow. The spring was set up as a washhouse in 1758 by the Chevalier Eon’s father and has always intrigued visitors. It was first explored back in the nineteenth century, but it has always managed to keep the secret of its origins.
